Indirect & Opportunity Funds

Indirect and Opportunity Funds are generated in several ways.

The most common and widely used of the funds in this group is 07427 - University Opportunity fund (also referred to as the Indirect Cost Recovery-ICR). This fund is made up of indirect cost recovery generated from a portion of federal contracts and grants, as well as private and local contracts and grants. Indirect & Opportunity funds are also in fund numbers "04XXX", "05XXX" and "09XXX".

These funds are authorized by base or current budget transfer; usually from the Budget Office via a budget document and occasionally from UCOP or another campus via the ITF process.

Restrictions
